2nd pick: #10 (Joe's Smokin Gun) (4-1) - Long time maiden tired late in a rather disappointing effort at this level and distance Aug. 26 at Saratoga. Stalker had finished 2nd here in three straight prior to that and receives a huge rider upgrade to Jose Ortiz.
3rd pick: #2 (Run for Boston) (7-2) - No speed type rallied from far back to miss by a 1/2-length going nine furlongs at this level Aug. 20 at Saratoga. Competitive in four of six at Belmont, a fast and/or contested pace would help his late running style out.
4th pick: #8 (Lemon Blitz) (9-2) - Lightly raced gelding rallied to finish 3rd at Saratoga Aug. 20. It was his first race in three months, and this 3yo was three lengths behind 'Run For Boston' that afternoon. Capable of factoring, but he needs to do better.
5th pick: #3 (Riendo) (8-1) - Lightly raced, he tired very late to finish four lengths in back of 'Run For Boston,' but was just under a length behind 'Lemon Blitz' Aug. 20 at Saratoga. 3yo by 'Kitten's Joy' must be used in the tris and superfectas.
