Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (WICKED FREUD) (5-1) - Very lightly raced Generazio home bred broke his maiden going 5.5 furlongs on the Saratoga turf Aug. 14th. It was only his second start, and he followed that up by finishing 4th here at this level going seven furlongs Sept. 12th. Freshened up since, he shortens up a furlong, and breaks from the rail. Can take this if able to avoid any traffic issues in this large field.
nd pick: #12 (Frisky Magician) (4-1) - He was beaten a 'nose' by 'Wicked Freud' Aug. 14th at Saratoga, but came back there Sept. 6th to go wire-to-wire to get his maiden win. Speedy 3yo in with 'open' company here Oct. 8th in his first facing winners. Going seven furlongs, he set a quick pace, and held gamely to check in 3rd of eight, beaten a length. Back in with fellow New York breds, and he's shortening up a furlong. Obvious threat.
rd pick: #6 (Banana Thief) (3-1) - The morning line favorite, he's been competitive in all five starts at this level sprinting on the turf. Freshened up since Sept. 12th, stalker missed by a 1/2 length that day racing here at this level going seven furlongs. Fits and is a win candidate down the stretch.
th pick: #7 (Gear Jammer) (10-1) - Strong finisher needed 11 starts to get his maiden win. That came here going seven furlongs for a $40K claiming tag Oct. 12th. He should get a fast and/or contested pace to rally into, and may grab a share at a big price.
th pick: #4 (Andrew's Got Zip) (15-1) - He has some early speed and is working nicely for his first since Aug. 21st. His lone win came on this course at this distance May 23. Needs his very best for even a minor award.
