Top pick: #4 (CORRESPONDENT) (7-2) - Claimed in early July for $35K by Midwest Thoroughbreds, mare was given a two month break and has returned in career best form. She was a winner here going 7 furlongs for a $35K tag nine days ago and is nicely spotted on a quick turnaround from trainer Laura Perillo.
2nd pick: #11 (Downtown Hottie) (3-1) - Veteran mare rallied to finish fourth here facing tougher nine days ago and she had some serious traffic issues that afternoon. Drops, stretches out a furlong, and daughter of "City Zip" draws a nice outside post.
3rd pick: #7 (Starship Gambler) (6-1) - Lightly-raced grey filly ships up from Delaware where she tired when facing tougher at this distance on Sept. 30. Race was her first back from a seven week break and trainer Steve Klesaris drops her down to the price-tag of her last win (at Saratoga on July 22). Speedy 4-year-old must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #5 (Double Berg) (30-1) - Longshot ships in from Monmouth where she tired badly while racing wide affter breaking from a tough outside post. She's done well on this course in the past at 3-1-0-1, has a much better slot today, and could grab a share at a very big price.
