Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (GOOD OLD BOY) (5-1) - The gelding is racing third back following a 7-month layoff and enters off an even effort here at this level going 9 furlongs Oct. 7. The 3yo is in a good barn (Mike Maker), shortens up in distance, and it's noted that Javier Castellano is aboard for the first time.
2nd pick: #11 (Powerstroke) (6-1) - The long-time maiden has fine early speed and finished third here at this distance facing tougher June 21. He's had excuses in all three starts since then and draws well for his style.
3rd pick: #6 (No Worries Mate) (15-1) - He's racing fourth back following a 10-month layoff moves back to the turf after tiring here in an 'off the turf' contest at this level Sept. 27. Speed/stalker may grab a share at a big price.
4th pick: #3 (Cross Multiply) - This is start #14 but he's been competitive in five of his last seven when racing on both turf and dirt at this level. Stalker fits with his normal effort but needs to do a bit better in the final furlong.
5th pick: #2 (Riendo) (6-1) - He raced very poorly here at this level Sept. following a good effort at Saratoga Au.g 20. Trainer Rich Schosberg cuts him back in distance and gelding gets a big rider upgrade to Joel Rosario.
