However he's finished second in four straight at this level on the grass and Rudy Rodriguez has him training steadily for his first since Dec. 2 when he ran poorly on the dirt. Back on the grass, strong finisher has Irad Ortiz Jr. aboard and 'Ben' can win this if ready.
2nd pick: #9 (Bob) (5-2) - The morning line and probable favorite, he's finished second in both career starts. The latest came here April 28 when he lost by a 'neck' to a horse that paid $140. Speed/stalker has a recency edge on 'Ben' and is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #11 (Royal Ridge) (8-1) - Longshot raced evenly while extremely wide when finishing 6.5 lengths behind 'Bob' April 28. He had a tough outside post that day and does so again this afternoon. Can factor if Javier Castellano can have a better trip with him.
4th pick: #3 (Circumnavigate) (12-1) - He set a pressured pace April 28 and tired late to finish three-lengths in back of 'Bob' while 3.5 in front of 'Royal Ridge.' Lightly-raced 4-year-old is improving and his early speed is a plus.
