Speed/stalker has trained well all along on the dirt, and trainer Chris Clement wins at a 23% clip on the surface switch.
2nd pick: #11 (Her) (5-2) - The probable favorite, she was bet down to favoritism when debuting at this level and distance March 26 at Gulfstream. She broke sharply from her inside post, opened up a clear lead, then weakened in the final furlong to finish 2nd. She's worked twice since, and trainer Bill Mott's favorite rider (Junior Alvarado) is back on the re-ride. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #10 (Saharan) (6-1) - Longshot had a terrible start and very wide trip when debuting at Gulfstream March 13. She was bet down to 3-1 that day and had attracted Javier Castellano. Home bred has had three fast breezes here since shipping North and is dangerous in this spot.
4th pick: #9 (Liana Star) (8-1) - Filly has been competitive in five of her six starts, but has been facing weaker types during the winter months. Speed/stalker may grab a share at a big price, but others are much more likely to win this.
