Top pick: #5 (CLARA KELLY) (3-1) - Grey filly cost $350,000 as a yearling back in the fall of 2013. Daughter of 'War Front' ships from Gulfstream where she finished fourth in her first two starts. She had a tough post in her debut sprinting March 1st, then showed good early speed before weakening late in her second outing. Gets a slight edge.
nd pick: #8 (Smoke Signals) (5-2) - Filly rallied to check in third of eight, beaten 1 1/2 lengths when debuting at Gulfstream at this level going 5-furlongs March 29th. Working well since, trainer Chris Clement (25% second time out) sends her an additional furlong. Win candidate.
rd pick: #1a (Neilinger) (10-1) - Daughter of 'Tapit' ships from Gulfstream where she missed by a 'neck' racing at this level going 5-furlongs April 8th. Field was weak and the figure earned a bit light. However, she draws a nice outside post and the extra furlong is in her favor.
th pick: #4 (Accord) (10-1) - Un-raced since early November, $190K daughter of 'Lemon Drop Kid' finished a pace-setting third that day going 8.5-furlongs on the Aqueduct turf course. Filly was in training at Gulfstream since mid-March but did not start there. A threat if ready.
th pick: #3 (Your Turn) (15-1) - Longshot was competitive going longer at Aqueduct April 17th. It was her first ever on the grass and was her best effort to date. Can impact at a big price as she shortens up in distance.
