Top pick: #9 (REIGN) (7-2) - Daughter of 'Speightstown' has disappointed a number of times. However, all have come facing tougher and this afternoon trainer Jimmy Jerkens will drop her into a claimer and race her on the grass, both for the first time. I like her chances.
nd pick: #11 (Punkins Pride) (6-1) - Filly enters off a wide and even effort here at this tag going 8.5-furlongs July 3. It was her first since April 19 when she was claimed by trainer Steve Klesaris for $20K at Keeneland. It was her first on the turf, a career best, and Castellano stays aboard.
rd pick: #7 (Ria de Encanta) (3-1) - Lightly-raced filly doubles up in price after being claimed for $20K by trainer Bruce Brown June 17. Stalker had been competitive in all four starts up to that point and exits the barn of Todd Pletcher.
th pick: #3 (Your Turn) (10-1) - Long shot has some late kick and moves back to the turf after rallying to finish fourth at this level on the dirt June 26. The faster the pace, the better her chances.
th pick: #8 (Egyptian Magic) (5-1) - Early speed is her game and filly finished third here facing a bit tougher May 28. Freshened up since then, she should be in this from start-to-finish.
