Heavily backed in both starts, she missed by a length in her debut at Saratoga Aug 3. In her follow up start here Oct 12, she finished third of 12, beaten 2.5-lengths going seven furlongs at this level. She spent the winter training at Palm Beach Downs in Florida and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Wake Up Smiling) (3-1) - Grey filly has been on the sidelines since last summer when she finished second in a pair of starts here at this level and distance. Daughter of 'Distorted Humor' has a new trainer (Linda Rice) 19 of 58 (33%) with new arrivals over the past 16 months. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #11 (Lady's First) (7-2) - Home bred has missed by a 'head' in both turf starts, each at this level. Daughter of 'Ghostzapper' has bee away since early November but has been training here for the past months. Can factor if ready.
4th pick: #7 (Dream On) (12-1) - Longshot tired going 6.5-furlongs on a muddy surface at this level April 7 at Aqueduct. It was her first race since Nov 8 of 2014. She's trying the grass and is making back-to-back starts, both for the first time.
5th pick: #6 (Galway Girl) (15-1) - One of two fillies making their debuts, she has some impressive works on view. The best of those was a bullet half-mile breeze from the gate here April 1. It was the best of 88 horses at that distance that morning.
