Top pick: #4 (TOASTING) (3-1) - Filly is one of two entered by trainer Tom Albertrani and the pair race uncoupled. Daughter of "Congrats" finished a distant second to today's rival "Flash Forward" last out at Saratoga in her first back from a nine week freshening. Well-bred sophomore broke her maiden here at this time last year and it came at this mile distance.
2nd pick: #2 (Flash Forward) (7-5) - The probable favorite, she comes off a career best when she was an easy winner of the $100K "My Flag" stakes in late Aug. at Saratoga. Strong finisher has won here before and has a sharp work showing on Sept. 14. Obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Ruby Lips) (5-1) - Lightly-raced daughter of "Hard Spun" hasn't raced since Jan. 5 when she finished second in a small stakes to "Princess of Sylmar" who is now the leading 3-year-old filly in the country. Working fast for her return and filly broke her maiden on this surface a year ago.
4th pick: #6 (Ol Donyo) (10-1) - Stretch-out sprinter is 4-1-2-1 since switching to dirt racing, and stalker comes off a fine effort at saratoga facing weaker on Aug. 26. Daughter of "Curlin" is working well since then and could factor at a square price.
