Top pick: #4 (LAUGH OUT LOUD) (5-1) - Price play ran a bit "rank," and did well to finish a close up third last out at Saratoga. English import kept top company overseas and is making back-to-back starts in this country for the first time.
2nd pick: #6 (Hungry Island) (2-1) - Veteran mare loves the local surface (7-3-1-3), and has gone 9-2-3-4 at this distance. Stalker draws a nice outside post in this small field, and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Better Lucky) (9-5) - The probable favorite, she's been freshened up since June 8 when she missed by a 1/2 length racing here in the "Just a Game" stakes (G1). Lightly raced Godolphin home-bred has run well against better fields than this in the past, and is a win candidate if ready with her best.
4th pick: #2 (Assateague) (6-1) - The main speed, she's won two in a row and last out was 1 1/2 lengths better than "Loud" in the the "De LaRose" stakes at Saratoga. In shape, and her early speed makes her dangerous.
