2nd pick: #8 (Best Performance) (5-1) - Stretch runner has been competitive in all four starts, the latest coming when she rallied to finish 2nd in a $350K stakes going seven furlongs at Kentucky Downs Sept. 6. It was her first off a brief frehsening (seven weeks) and first on the turf. Dangerous today.
3rd pick: #9 (Africa) (3-1) - One of two entered by Chad Brown, and they race as separate betting interests. French import went 3-1-1-1 in her native country during the summer and was competitive twice when facing males. Working fast locally, she has lasix added, and leading rider Javier Castellano is aboard. Win candidate.
4th pick: #7 (Significant Form) (7-2) - The second of the Brown trained fillies, she rallied from far back to win her debut at Saratoga Aug. 27 racing at this distance. However, she was disqualified and placed 7th for causing a traffic jam turning for home. Working fast and is a stretch threat.
