Top pick: #1 (Entry of 1-TANNERY & 1a-LAUGHING) (8-5) - Irish-bred filly is part of a strong entry from trainer Alan Goldberg and enters this off a fine fourth-place finish at Saratoga when facing males in the "Sword Dancer" (G1). Strong finisher won a G2 on this surface in late May and is working fast for this attemp. "Laughing" has won three straight graded stakes, including the (G1) "Diana" at Saratoga on July 27th.
2nd pick: #6 (Qushchi) (3-1) - English-bred was a very ordinary runner in her native country, but has gone 5-1-2-2 since being imported. Last out at Saratoga she won the $100K "Waya" on Aug. 5 annd has been training nicely at fair Hill since then.
3rd pick: #5 (Kissable) (6-1) - Her form has tailed off this year, but Irish-bred kept top company overseas and was a productive runner when first brought to No. America. Can factor, but needs to turn it around.
4th pick: #7 (White Rose) (12-1) - Longshot is lightly raced, well bred, and moves back to the grass off a near miss at Saratoga in the $150K "Glens Falls" stakes on Sept. 2. That race was switched to the main-track and this improving filly by "Tapit" has a solid turf record against weaker at 6-2-3-1.
