Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (READY DANCER) (9-2) - He showed a big step forward at Saratoga Aug 29 when trainer Todd Pletcher added blinkers. Son of 'More Than Ready' broke sharply from his outside post, tracked a quick pace, then rallied while wide to draw away to a handy maiden win. He completed the 6-furlongs in 1:10 flat while earning a solid figure. Working nicely since and he gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Greenpointcrusader) (5-1) - Son of 'Bernardini' cost $575,000 a year ago at the Keeneland fall yearling sale. Reported to b e a runner before his debut, he missed by a 'neck' at Saratoga in his first start July 25. Given a six-week freshening, he rallied from close range to break his maiden there going 7-furlongs Sept 5. Working nicely and he should enjoy this mile distance.
3rd pick: #1 (Magna Light) (6-1) - The main speed and his rail post means that he'll be sent hard at the break. Colt has been sharp in all three appearances and is the only horse entered with a win here at Belmont.
4th pick: #7 (Tale of S'avall) (7-2) - Home bred looked sharp when breaking his maiden when debuting Aug 29 at Saratoga. Well backed that day, he rated early, bid strongly when asked, then drew off to a two-length score. He worked four times here during September and trainer Barclay Tagg adds Lasix. Must be left in the mix.
