Top pick: #2 (GROUPTHINK) (9-5) - Lightly-raced colt has run well in all his starts 6-1-3-2 and comes off a distant second-place finish at this level and distance at Saratoga on Aug. 9. It was his second back from a 7 1/2 month layoff and trainer Chad Brown has put three sharp works into him since. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Bluegrass Flash) (7-2) - Grey gelding is going turf to dirt and shortening up in distance this afternoon. One-run type broke his maiden on this course May 8th going a mile so you know he's capable on the surface switch. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Here Comes Tommy) (6-1) - Trainer John Morrison skipped almost all of the summer with this gelding by "Freud" and has him working sharply for his first since June 13th. He's already run well several times at this level and he can factor at a square price.
4th pick: #5 (Here He Fitz) (12-1) - Longshot isn't a real serious win candidate but the no-speed type may grab a minor award at a big price if the pace is fast and/or contested.
