Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (ASTORIA KITTEN) (7-2) - Filly by 'Kitten's Joy' was heavily bet (even-money) when debuting at this level and distance Aug. 14 at Saratoga. She rushed up after hitting the gate at the break and tired turning for home. She's worked since and the high percentage barn of Danny Gargan is adding blinkers. She'll be tough with a trouble free beginning.
2nd pick: #2 (Mazal Eighteen) (4-1) - She set the pace in the same last race as 'Astoria Kitten' and tired to finish third. It was a nice move forward off her dirt debut July 24 and this $220,000 daughter of 'Will Take Charge' should be in this from gate-to-wire.
3rd pick: #6 (Courageous Girl) (8-1) - Filly is one of two entered by trainer Dave Donk and the pair race uncoupled. She showed some ability in her first pair sprinting on the dirt and is switching to the grass while stretching out in distance.
4th pick: #7 (Beyond Brown) (12-1) - The second of the Dave Donk trained fillies, she raced extremely wide at Saratoga on a sloppy track going 5.5 furlongs Aug. 21. It was a much better effort than the final result and believe she can factor at a big price in her grass debut.
5th pick: #10 (Adriatic Holiday) (6-1) - Well backed when debuting at Saratoga July 24, she raced evenly in a 7 furlong contest that was taken 'off the turf'. Blinkers are added and she's in the mix in what is her delayed grass debut.
