Top pick: #1 (CUANTOS) (7-2) - Lightly-raced and very promising colt was a gate-to-wire winner here at this distance to win an entry-level allowance for fellow state-breds on Sept. 18. It followed a pair of sharp efforts in his previous pair and he's been working nicely since. Son of "Readthefootnotes" takes the next logical step and breaks from the rail. Only negative is this is his first on an "off" surface.
2nd pick: #2 (Wake Up in Malibu) (5-1) - He's one of three running that has won on "off" going and he's two for two in it. Stalking type has a nice post and will almost surely get a fast and/or contested pace to rally into.
3rd pick: #5 (Frost Jordan) (9-2) - One of two entered by trainer Mike Hushion and the pair race uncoupled. Colt by "Frost Giant" has been on the sidelines since a come-from-behind win here going 8.5-furlongs on May 24th. Working steadily and he's also a perfect two for two on wet tracks. Stretch threat if ready.
4th pick: #6 (Billy the Bull) (10-1) - Very fast from the gate, he's much improved since being claimed by trainer Gary Gullo for $25K this past March. He's going turf to dirt after earning a career best figure when winning a turf sprint here Sept. 19. Capable on the dirt and he's dangerous if left alone in the first 1/4 mile.
