Top pick: #4 (ROCK N COZY) (3-1) - Grey mare comes off a strong second place finish on this surface going seven furlongs on Sept. 15th. Overall effort was her best since July of 2012, and this one-turn mile should be perfect for her.
nd pick: #8 (Transplendid) (4-1) - Well-bred filly set the pace and finished a distant second in a switched race here at this level on Sept. 22nd. Race was her first in two months, and her early speed makes her a threat in this spot.
rd pick: #7 (Life's a Stage) (6-1) - Price play chased and weakened after a poor start racing at this level at Saratoga Aug. 24th. She's clearly better on the grass and must be left in the mix.
th pick: #6 (Celesta) (7-2) - Her lack of speed hurts her chances, but her "figures" on the grass fit with these, and she could be a late threat if the pace is fast and/or contested.
th pick: #5 (Peggy Virginia) (5-1) - Well-bet in her debut here on June 7, she chased a "much the best" winner, and held to finish a clear second in a six furlong contest that was switched to the main track. Trainer Mike Hushion has freshened her up for four months, moves her up in class, has her on the grass, and stretches her out in distance.
