Top pick: #9 (PRINCESS VIOLET) (5-2) - Speed/stalker has been freshened up since a "troubled" effort at Saratoga in the G2 "Prioress Stakes" on Aug. 30. She broke poorly that afternoon and also was "bumped" turning for home. Working nicely, she drops in class, draws a nice post, and has been sharp in both local dirt sprints.
2nd pick: #2 (Predicate) (10-1) - Filly did well to finish an even fourth at Saratoga on Aug. 23. She had a poor break and made a strong middle move while racing wide before leveling off in the final furlong. Working fast, she's gone 4-1-1-2 here in the past.
3rd pick: #5 (Bella Bianca) (6-1) - Penn National shipper was an impressive maiden winner there when debuting on Sept. 6. High percentage barn (Todd Beattie) has won on the NYRA circuit in the past, and this filly earned a solid "figure" in her win.
4th pick: #6 (Feral Miss) (4-1) - Home bred ships up from Philly park where she missed by a "head" at this level on a "sloppy" track Aug. 23. Nice effort came off a two month break, and trainer Alan Goldberg has won twice at this fall meet.
