Top pick: #6 (BOW TIE BOSS) (2-1) - Home bred by 'Candy Ride' finished a pace-chasing second at Aqueduct April 12th to an impressive winner. Colt was making his first start since debuting here on Sept. 13. Trainer Jimmy Jerkens adds both blinkers and Lasix and has this promising 3-year-old making back-to-back starts for the first time. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #3 (Native Hawk) (7-2) - Gelding has been freshened up since finishing second at this level on Aqueduct's winter surface March 13th. Nice effort and this 3-year-old by 'Flower Alley' is training fast for his return.
3rd pick: #4 (Fortutious Path) (6-1) - He exits the same March 13th race as 'Native Hawk'. $150K colt by 'Quality Road' showed good early speed that day and tired during the stretch run. A useful debut and it's noted that he took some betting action that afternoon. Can factor at a square price with normal second-out improvement.
4th pick: #2 (Tommy Macho) (5-2) - Colt from the Pletcher barn rallied from far back to finish third of 14, beaten just over 3-lengths when debuting at Gulfstream Park Feb. 21. On the sidelines since, he makes his first start for Pletcher after a private sale.
