Top pick: #10 (COUSIN MICHAEL) (15-1) - Longshot races third off a seven week freshening and will be stretching back out in distance. Last out he did not break sharply on a sloppy surface and made up some late ground to finish third. He's 2-for-3 at this mile trip, is working fast, and draws a nice post. 4-year-old has a solid shot at a big price.
2nd pick: #7 (Bigger is Bettor) (5-1) - He always comes to run and is 5-0-3-2 at this level dating back to late Dec. One-run type should get a solid pace to rally into and will bring his best, which is all you can ask.
3rd pick: #5 (Copper Forest) (7-2) - Veteran has been sharp in both local races since coming off a a 10 month layoff in late April. Loves the distance (8-4-2-0) and is an obvious factor if he holds his form. Gelding hails from the same barn (Charlton Baker) as "Michael" and the pair race uncoupled.
4th pick: #3 (Panthro) (6-1) - Stretch-out sprinter tired badly after pressing a fast pace in the same May 19th race that "Michael" exits. The race was his first in 13 1/2 months and he probably needed it badly. He has back races that make him a threat if repeatable.
