Top pick: #5 (TOKYO TIME) (4-1) - Very consistent filly moves up in class after a sharp win over weaker at Saratoga going two-turns Aug. 2. She earned a career best figure that day and her flexible running style is a big plus. Daughter of "Medaglia d'Oro" is still improving, and I liker her chances.
2nd pick: #9 (Baffle Me) (5-1) - Speed/stalker is in a nice spot today and draws a great outside post to use her early speed. Mare loves this course at 5-3-1-0 and is 5-2-1-0 at this mile journey. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Byamara) (8-1) - Veteran mare skipped the Saratoga meet and is working nicely at Fair Hill in Maryland for her first since early June. One-run type is a former G1 winner and has beaten tougher fields than this in the past. Her overall form has declined over the past year but she can factor with her best.
4th pick: #7 (Medea) (15-1) - Irish import has a strong late kick and has a fine record on the turf (10-3-2-3). She won a G3 stakes at Monmouth on June 21st and has run well here in the past (2-1-1-0). Accustomed to longer distances, mare will need a fast and/or contested pace for anything more than a minor award.
