Top pick: #1 (CARRIBEAN SUNSET) - European import kept some elite company over seas and ran and won some very prestugious stakes (mostly in her native Ireland). Sent here last summer for one race, she finished a close-up fourth despite some trouble in The American Oaks (G1) at Hollywood Park on July 5 after which she returned to Ireland. Sent back again late in '08 she finished second in the Beaugay (G3) on this course May 2 her first race in seven months. Looks primed in her second off the break and she's the choice for the win.
2nd pick: #5 (Forever Together) - Multiple Grade 1 winner will in all probability go favored here. Augustin Stable runner has been a filly of quality since she first came to the races, but really reached another level when switched to the grass. She has a very powerful late kick and fires just about every time. The distance and the outlay of this course are not in her favor, but she'll be very tough nontheless.
3rd pick: #7 (Diamondrella) - Professional turf sprinter will try and take her talent a bit longer today. Very consistent runner has improved considerably the past year and brings a strong closing style to the contest. Won her seasonal debut at Keeneland on April 18 earning her highest figure ever. Don't sell too short.
