Top pick: #5 (SKY PAINTER ) (3-1) - Lightly-raced and still promising, Darley home bred missed by a 1/2 length at Saratoga on Aug. 23 in her first race since Nov. 1. Strong finisher has always been highly thought of and looks set to visit the winner's circle again.
2nd pick: #12 (Distorted Beauty) (6-1) - New York bred has gone 3-2-1-0 on the grass and stalker draws a nice outside post in this relatively paceless field. Working well and she's won on this course in the past.
3rd pick: #11 (Miss Melinda) (10-1) - Longshot ran well last out at Saratoga and did so despite a tough outside post and a wide trip. Working fast since and that includes a bullet half-mile spin (best of 41) on the "Spa" training track Sept. 13.
4th pick: #8 (Fizzy Pink) (5-1) - English bred has gone 4-1-1-1 since coming to North America and comes off a troubled journey trip at Saratoga Aug. 23. No-speed type needs to avoid any traffic issues in this large field for any chance at the win.
5th pick: #3 (Palace Dreams) (8-1) - Another New York bred, she has fine early speed and has gone 8-3-2-1 to date, all on the turf. In career best shape and she should be involved most of the way.
