Top pick: #5 (SECRETIVE) (3-1) - Phipps stable home-bred is rounding to form following a long layoff (8 1/2 months) and last out finished third at Saratoga, a length back of today's rival "Mr. Jenney." Son of "Indian Charlie" has a stalking style, a pair of fine recent works, and John Velazquez is back on the re-ride.

nd pick: #1 (Lochte) (7-2) - Darley colt is another rounding to form and this $475K yearling by "Medaglia d'Oro" comes off a career best at Saratoga on Aug. 4. He showed good early speed that day and held gamely to finish a close up third. Race was his first ever on the grass and he's a win candidate in this spot.

rd pick: #11 (Mr. Jenney) (4-1) - As mentioned above, when finishing second at Saratoga on Aug. 23 he was a length better than "Secretive." He's been competitive in three of four on the grass, is in a winning barn (Chris Clement), and is a stretch threat.

th pick: #6 (Relentless Ride) (6-1) - He had a very poor start last out at Saratoga but rallied while wide to finish 3rd of 10 in his first ever on the turf. Fits, is improving, and must be left in the mix.

th pick: #8 (Buddy's Tiz) (20-1) - Longshot is training fast for his first since mid-March and first on the grass. Son of "Tiznow" cost $400K as a yearling and probably has more talent than he's shown so far.
