Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (UNCLE SOUTHERN) (7-2) - Mare is one of two entered by trainer Linda Rice and the pair race uncoupled. Speed/stalker missed by a 'neck' here at this level going six furlongs Sept. 10 and that ran her local grass record to 5-2-2-0. Veteran gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #9 (Barrel of Dreams) (5-2) - The morning line favorite, she's won there of her last four since coming off a 5.5 month layoff June 23. That layoff turned her career around and this 4-year-old draws a great post for this seven furlong trip. A very strong win threat and I could have easily made her the top selection.
3rd pick: #3 (Barrier to Entry) (8-1) - The second of the pair from trainer Linda Rice, daughter of 'City Zip' won a state-bred entry-level allowance going six furlongs here Sept. 14. It was her first race in a bit over two-months and mare can factor right back. Capable, but the top two would both need to be sub par for her to win this.
4th pick: #1 (Eloweasel) (8-1) - Lightly-raced 3-year-old rallied to finish a close up fourth going six furlongs here Sept. 10. It was her first in two months and she can grab a share from off the pace following a ground-saving journey.
