Top pick: #9 (CLOSING BELL) (5-1) - Price play rallied from far back to finish fourth when debuting at this level and distance on the Gulfstream grass April 11. $400K son of 'Tapit' had a tough post that day and has since come back with a sharp dirt work here May 8. Trainer Bill Mott is always better second time out, and this 3yo has a shot at a square price.
2nd pick: #2 (Arbitrator) (5-2) - The probable favorite, he's finished second in two straight, the latest coming here going a mile April 11. He's worked three times since for trainer Chris Clement and is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Pisgah) (6-1) - He tired badly when debuting in the same last race as 'Arbitrator.' Home bred by 'Bernardini' is in an excellent second out barn (Kiaran McLaughlin, 24%), and he should run much better in this spot.
4th pick: #10 (Star's Ride) (8-1) - Colt ships from Keeneland where he tired to finish fourth going 7-furlongs April 17. Race had a strong field, and this son of 'Street Sense' was racing off almost a 100-day layoff. Look for an improved effort at a square price.
