It was his second back after a 100-day freshening and first off a Tom Morley claim. State bred won here going a mile Oct. 25 in his only previous start at Belmont and is dangerous today.
3rd pick: #3 (Avast Matey) (7-2) - Consistent sort rallied from close range to win at this tag going a mile at Aqueduct March 25. It was his first since Jan. 28 when trainer Jeremiah Englehart claimed him for $16,000 at Aqueduct. Win earned him his best figure since last May and he must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #7 (Bar None) (5-1) - No-speed type raced both wide and evenly when finishing fourth, 8 lengths behind 'Avast Matey' March 25 at Aqueduct. It was his first following a Rudy Rodriguez and this 5-year-old would seem to have a minor award as his ceiling.
