Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (DEZZER) (7-2) - Lightly raced and fast from the gate, this colt has won two of three starts in wire-to-wire fashion. The latest came May 20 at Monmouth when he defeated $30K 'open' claimers at this distance. He's worked fast since, is from the high percentage barn of George Navarro, and Jose Ortiz is signed on. 3yo gets a small edge.
2nd pick: #8 (H Man) (4-1) - Veteran has been competitive in six straight at this level. Latest came here going seven furlongs in the mud May 12 when he finished a pace-chasing 2nd. In shape, this stalker draws outside of what could be a fast and/or contested pace, and that's to his advantage.
3rd pick: #6 (A True Giant) (2-1) - Home bred by 'Giant's Causeway' has been on the sidelines since a very sharp gate-to-wire win when debuting April 11 at Aqueduct going 6.5 furlongs. Working fast for this attempt, he's been entered and scratched a couple of times looking for the right spot.
4th pick: #4 (Proletariat) (6-1) - Speed/stalker has finished 3rd in both starts at this level since a win at Aqueduct for a $50K tag Feb. 15. However, he was two lengths behind 'H Man' in both of those attempts, so he needs to improve a bit today.
