Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (ALLURE FORTUNE) (5-1) - This filly is one of two entered by Jeremiah Englehart, and the pair race as separate betting interests. Well backed when debuting at this level going seven furlongs Sept. 22 at Belmont, she tired late to finish 3rd after setting a quick and pressured pace. $150K daughter of 'Bayern' has a fine series of works on view and can win this off the long layoff.
2nd pick: #11 (Jewel of Arabia) (2-1) - The morning line and probable favorite, she's been on the sidelines since finishing 2nd at this level going five furlongs at Saratoga Aug. 21. She's been in with talented fields in both attempts and is a strong win candidate today.
3rd pick: #1 (Sharp Starr) (6-1) - A home-bred by 'Munnings,' she rallied to finish 2nd at this level going seven furlongs at Aqueduct Feb. 15. Bred by the quality operation of former NYRA chairman Barry Schwartz, she hasn't shown any early speed in either attempt and will need some pace help to make her late run effective.
4th pick: #5 (Banker's Daughter) (8-1) - Competitive in all four starts, this stalker has good spots to strike from but has been a bit lacking at 'crunch' time. She needs to do much better late for anything more than a minor award.
5th pick: #7 (Eloquent Speaker) (6-1) - The second of the fillies from the Englehart barn, she chased and held down the place spot when debuting Feb. 1. The race was run in slow time, 1:14 flat, and she needs to do better today. Daughter of 'Flatter' has blinkers on, and that may help her out some.
