Top pick: #6 (MARY'S SONG) - Daughter of "Unbridled's Song" ran well in her first pair on the Gulfstream dirt, finishing second and third after racing close-up in both. Trainer Chad Brown entered her for the turf last out, but the race was "washed-off" the infield and filly finished a well-beaten fourth. Brown is gaining a reputation as a very sharp grass trainer. The top pick at a nice price.
2nd pick: #2 (Successful Friend) - Filly finished a strong second at Hollywood Park last December at this distance and will be moving back to the turf off a four-month layoff for trainer Paulo Lobo who is spending his first season at Belmont. Daughter of "Forest Wildcat" is working sharply for her return and should be a square price.
3rd pick: #5 (Warm Spring's Girl) - She's finished second in her last pair, both at this distance, on this course, and they came almost eight months apart. Claimed out of her return run for $35,000 by a barn (Del Carroll) that almost never claims anymore. She comes-back quickly for this (two weeks) and needs to avoid a possible "bounce" to succeed.
4th pick: #3 (Cape Karoo) - Filly moves back to the turf and shortens-up in distance for this attempt. Her best race ever came in a two-turn race on the grass at Gulfstream Park in early March. Working fast on the Saratoga training track for this and she's a late threat in this sprint.
