Monsoon Rain (#6) - 4-year-old colt faces 8 foes, but 7 of them are just 3-year-olds. Experience edge goes to the son of Old Trieste, who finished gamely when making his US debut following an 18-month layoff. That sprint was obviously just a prep as he stretches out to 1 1/16 miles today.

Meniscus (#1) - The other 4-year-old in race has faced tougher than these and should be a good price as public will get off of him against non-NY-bred foes.

Another Look (#8) - Son of Seeking The Gold ($125,000 sire fee) raced greenly for the first half-mile in his debut. He was down by 16 lengths before closing down the lane to win that race. Gets a route of ground today and 2 works since that win has us thinking he understands this game now.

Zinzan (#2) - Todd Pletcher trainee lost first 2 races down at Gulfstream Park over the winter. Connections must have been disappointed as this son of Grand Slam cost them $1.3 million. Raised in Kentucky and broke maiden by 6 1/2 lengths and looks to be moving up to bigger and better things.

The Plays: Exacta Box: 1-2-6-8 ($24)
Note: Cost based on $2 ticket.
