Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (COMPLEXITY) (3-1) - This lightly raced 4yo has been on the sidelines since finishing 4th, 9.5 lengths in back of 'Omaha Beach' at Santa Anita going seven furlongs in the G1 Malibu Stakes Dec. 28. Talented speedster won the G1 Champagne Stakes here at this distance back in early Oct. of 2018 and is training fast for Chad Brown. His outside post will give Jose Ortiz some early options, and I think this 4yo is ready to fire a big effort.
2nd pick: #3 (Spinoff) (7-2) - One of two entered by Todd Pletcher, the pair race uncoupled. He finished 2nd in the Louisiana Derby (G2) in late March of 2019, then was never involved in the Kentucky Derby (G1) before a good effort in the Belmont Stakes (G1). He's been sharp in three straight entering this contest, is nicely spotted, and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Sniper Shot) (5-1) - The second of the pair from Todd Pletcher, this lightly raced 4yo has gone 5-3-2-0 so far and was a very impressive 6.5-length winner at this distance facing weaker May 17 at Gulfstream. Fast from the gate and clearly improving, he's in the win mix.
4th pick: #6 (Nicodemus) (6-1) - This lightly raced 5yo tired badly going seven furlongs here on the grass June 7. Nothing more than a prep following a 4.5-month layoff, this former stakes winner is back on the dirt and is capable of factoring with his 'A' game.
