Top pick: #11 (SUNBIO) (5-2) - Grey colt was "bumped" at the start when debuting at Gulfstream on March 27th in a grass sprint and did well to finish 4th of 11, beaten just over 5 lengths. He's worked since shipping and trainer Barclay Tagg (who does well at belmont) moves him in with fellow New York-breds. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #5 (The Big Deluxe) (4-1) - Grey colt by 'Silver Wagon" is improving and trainer Gary Sciacca will move him to the grass for the first time. 3yos has finished a close up 4th in his last pair of the dirt and is headed in the right direction.
rd pick: #3 (Midnight Monarch) (6-1) - He had no chance when debuting on Jan 9th when he "lunged" at the break and was never involved. On the sidelines since that first assignment, he's working nicely, is bred for the turf, and trainer Dom Galluscio adds blinkers.
th pick: #7 (Hengroen) (12-1) - He's shown good early speed in two of his four outings and will be cutting back in distance and racing 3rd back from a long layoff (6 1/2 months).
th pick: #9 (Can't Catch Me Now) (15-1) - He's regressed noticeably since returning from a 2 1/2 month layoff in early Dec. Gelding will be trying the grass for the first time and could grab a minor award at a big price.
