Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (SLAPSTICK) (3-1) - One of two entered by trainer Tom Morley and the pair race uncoupled. Gelding rallied while wide to miss by a 1/2 length at this level going 5.5 furlongs on the Saratoga grass Aug 18. It was his first race in almost two months and his second ever in a claimer. The additional 1/16th of a mile he travels is in his favor as is the presence of Javier Castellano.
nd pick: #8 (Walk Proud) (6-1) - Four-year-old tired after rushing up following a bobble at the break when debuting Aug 18 at Saratoga. He would eventually check in 4.5 lengths behind 'Slapstick' that afternoon and has worked very fast here twice since. A strong win candidate.
rd pick: #12 (Peculiar Sensation) (8-1) - Speedy gelding split 'Slapstick' and 'Walk Proud' Aug 18 at Saratoga. It was his first ever on the turf and a positive experience. It's a plus that Jose Ortiz is back on the re-ride.
th pick: #7 (Hopper Dropper) (12-1) - Longshot has had a lot of chances, but has shown nice improvement in his last pair. No-speed type would love a fast and/or contested pace to develop to help his stretch charge out.
th pick: #5 (Colonel Andy) (6-1) - The second of the pair from trainer Tom Morley, he's had trouble in two of his three starts at this level. Lightly-raced, he's getting better and may grab a share at a square price.
