Top pick: #9 (ROYAL ASSET) (9-2) - One of seven making their debuts and this son of "Langfuhr" ships in from Kentcuky where he's been working fast for trainer Wesley Ward (21% first out). Can take this if he runs to his AM drills.
nd pick: #5 (Thank You) (5-1) - The field's most experienced maiden, he finished second at Saratoga on July 20th, then raced both wide and evenly when checking in fourth there Aug. 10. He's a strong win candidate this afternoon.
rd pick: #1 (Hundred Percent) (15-1) - Wachtel home bred showed high early speed before weakening to finish a distant third at Saratoga Aug. 25. Good effort came facing $50K "open" maiden claimers and race had a daylight winner. Working fast since and his speed makes him a threat.
th pick: #7 (Watergate) (10-1) - He ran well when debuting in a dirt contest at the "Spa" July 31st, then tired in a grass sprint there Aug. 20. It's of note that trainer George Weaver has Johnny Velazquez aboard for the first time.
th pick: #12 (Jacapo) (5-1) - Debuting colt has some fast works on view and bullet local half-mile gate breeze here on Sept. 7, indicates his readiness. Home bred draws a tough outside post so he needs to break running.
