Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (BLIND POOL) (7-2) - Well backed when debuting going six furlongs at Saratoga July 31, she tired while wide racing on a sloppy surface. Trainer Chad Brown (27% second time out) stretches her out in distance (33%). Looks set for a big race with Castellano back aboard.
2nd pick: #7 (Love Me in Malibu) (8-1) - Longshot also backed up in the same Saratog sprint that 'Blind Pool' exits. Grey daughter of 'Malibu Moon' has a pair of sharp half-mile works heading into this and she's bred to enjoy this longer trip.
3rd pick: #3 (Berned) (5-2) - Lasix is added to filly who missed by a 1/2 length when debuting in a Saratoga sprint Aug 14. She received a favorable pace set-up in a contest run in very slow time. The probable favorite, she's a threat, but no lock at a short price.
4th pick: #5 (Montrachet) (6-1) - She sold for $450,000 as a 2-year-old in training this past March. Another that exits the same Spa race as both 'Blind Pool' and 'Love Me in Malibu,' she tired that day in the slop. Looks for an improved effort at a square price.
