Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (LONG NIGHT) (6-1) - Longshot has been on the sidelines for the past 70 days. He raced evenly facing tougher at Saratoga Aug. 2 and never really had a chance after being slammed at the break that afternoon. It was his first off a Chad Summers claim and he drops him back down to the $40K tag he got him for. Competitive in three straight prior to that, 3-year-old broke his maiden here July 1. Has a good shot at a big price.
2nd pick: #8 (Dream Trip) (8-1) - Another longshot, he hasn't raced since March 11 and returns as a NEW gelding. Home bred is working steadily for trainer Brian Lynch (21% of of long layoffs) and 3-year-old has more early speed than most entered. A major factor at a big price if ready.
3rd pick: #1 (Soglio) (5-2) - The morning line and probable favorite, he's dropping to a new low in his second start back from a five month layoff. He ran evenly here facing tougher in his return Sept. 30 and was bumped at the break and forced to race wide. Has the rail and is an obvious win candidate.
4th pick: #6 (Itsabgboy) (3-1) - Very lightly-raced, he's on the grass for the first time following three straight solid efforts on the dirt. $250K yearling was originally with Todd Pletcher and runs today first off a Brad Cox claim (a strong 37% winning angle). Must be left in the mix.
