Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (WAR OF IDEAS) (5-2) - Grey colt is one of two maidens from the barn of Chad Brown and the pair race uncoupled. He cost $470,000 as a yearling back in 2014 and has been competitive in both starts. They came almost a year apart and he's making back-to-back starts for the first time. Looks all set.
nd pick: #10 (Dark as Midnight) (8-1) - Longshot has early speed and is moving from dirt to turf while stretching out in distance. Well backed in three of his four starts, colt by 'Midnight Lutr' can factor at a big price.
rd pick: #9 (Butler Field) (6-1) - The second of the pair from trainer Chad Brown, he's moving from dirt to grass, cuts back in distance, and has blinkers on. No-speed type is a late threat.
th pick: #11 (Jess I Am) (15-1) - Another longshot, he missed by a 'nose' here at this level going a mile on the grass June 17. Not as sharp in a pair since then, he's been freshened up for the past two months.
th pick: #12 (L'Ange Bleu) (6-1) - Very lightly-raced, German bred has early speed and is racing second off a year's layoff. Lasix is added, he's working fast, and John Velazquez is aboard for the first time.
