Top pick: #12 (GEAR JAMMER) (4-1) - Son of "Freud" set a pressured pace and held gamely to finish third here at this level Sept. 14. He had to be sent hard that day from his rail post and this outside draw is a plus. He gets a slight edge in a competitive contest.
2nd pick: #13 (Foxhall Drive) (7-2) - Nice debut at Saratoga Aug. 28 saw him press a solid pace and hold his position until the final 1/16th when he weakened to finish third. $200K son of "Congrats" has been given seven weeks of rest, is working well, and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #10 (Ode to the Hunt) (3-1) - Home bred by grass champ "Artie Schiller" rallied to finish second when debuting here at this level and distance Sept. 14. He was a "nose" in front of "Gear Jammer" that day and has worked fast since. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #9 (Brother O'Connell) (15-1) - He has a lack of early speed and also ran very headstrong last out. Son of "Giant's Causeway" has made up ground in both starts and can factor if he doesn't expend energy fighting his rider again.
5th pick: #1 (Scooby Dude) (5-1) - Longshot has had trouble at the break in both starts and has been forced into wide trips in each. Has the rail, Lasix is added, and this home bred from trainer Kate Feron could grab a share at a big price.
