Top pick: #6 (PAPA LOVES MAMBO) (5-1) - He races third back off a 4 1/2 month layoff and it's nice to see him stringing starts together. Gelding raced evenly while wide in his latest and was beaten just under a length by today's rival "Keltic Fighter." Rounding into his best form and he gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #7 (Oghma) (2-1) - Gelding runs second off a Gary Gullo claim and will be dropping back down, going turf to dirt, and shortening back up to a sprint. Stalker was a re-claim and that's always a positive angle in my book. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Keltic Fighter) (7-2) - He has one win in 55 dirt starts to go along with a total of 17 minor placings. Grey veteran has finished second in three straight at Aqu., but has a very poor local record (12-0-0-2). However, he is in shape and is capable of getting another share this afternoon.
4th pick: #5 (Private Irving A) (10-1) - "Irving" drops to a new low after tiring in his latest facing $25K foes. Gelding has some speed and home-bred should be involved from start-to-finish at long odds.
