Top pick: #3 (DIVINE ENERGY) (3-1) - One of several promising colts entered and this $300K son of "Tapit" comes off a sharp maiden win going 7-furlongs at Aqu. on April 12th. It came fresh off a 5 1/2 month layoff and this grey colt has worked twice since. He gets a slight edge in a nice field.
2nd pick: #5 (Bay of Plenty) (7-5) - The probable favorite, Godolphin home-bred has been freshened up since an easy gate-to-wire maiden win on Aqueduct's inner-surface March 22nd. Working nicely for his return and this son of "Medaglia d'Oro" looks like he has a bright future. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Roman Approval) (6-1) - Puerto Rican import has gone 10-3-6-1 there and has given island champion "Tonito M" several good battles. He has early speed, a new trainer (Mike Hushion), and runs off almost a three month freshening.
4th pick: #7 (Los Borrachos) (4-1) - Lightly-raced colt was in way over his head last out in the "Wood Memorial" (G1) and was beaten almost 35 lengths. Son of "Pulpit" had broken his maiden in his previous start and has worked twice since the "Wood." There's not much early speed in his arsenal, so he'll need a fast and/or contested pace for anything more that a minor award.
