Top pick: #7 (GALLOPING GIRAFFE) (7-2) - Filly by "Tapit" made up good ground when debuting at Gulfstream facing special weights on March 23rd. Pletcher-trained 3-year-old broke slowly from her inside post that day and trailed by double-digits until the stretch run. Barn drops her down (40% by Pletcher) and she has his main rider (John Velazquez) aboard for this attempt.
nd pick: #1 (Saturday Nthe Park) (5-2) - She runs first off a Mike Maker claim (29%) and he immediately moves her to the grass and stretches her out in distance. Daughter of "Any Given Saturday" is bred for the turf and has been showing good early speed in her dirt races.
rd pick: #2 (Hidden Music) (4-1) - Daughter of "Elusive Quality" is one of two entered by trainer Linda Rice and the pair race uncoupled. She was very hard to handle last out in her turf debut and was claimed by Rice for $65K. Blinkers go on and she's been working very fast since being claimed on May 2nd. In the mix.
th pick: #4 (Maintain the Magic) (12-1) - The second of the Rice pair, she hasn't run since Jan. 13 when filly by "Curlin" tired after setting a pressured pace on a muddy surface facing special weights. Can impact if ready.
th pick: #5 (Shortbread Scotty) (6-1) - She has speed/stalking ability and has shown some talent in her three starts on the turf and should be involved from start-to-finish.
