Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (GALADRIEL'S LIGHT) (5-2) - On the sidelines since Dec. 13, trainer Linda Rice is dropping this filly into a claimer while racing her on the grass for the first time. Competitive in two of three when facing maidens, home bred by 'Will Take Charge' has the rail, Jose Ortiz aboard for the first time, and this particular drop has produced six wins in 21 starts (29%) for Rice in 2018-19.
nd pick: #9 (Mz Seb Pat) (8-1) - Longshot has early speed and is taking the same drop as 'Galadriel's Light'. Entered a couple of times at the meet and scratched, think she's dangerous at a big price in her first since Nov. 24.
rd pick: #7 (My First Gal) (6-1) - Mare is the field's most experienced maiden and is stretching out in distance for this attempt. 5yo has been competitive in three of her last four on the grass, has a speed/stalking style, and must be left in the mix facing a weak field.
th pick: #3 (Honorable Profit) (10-1) - A lightly raced 3yo, she's switching back to the grass after finishing second of six, beaten 4.5 lengths here at this level going 6 furlongs in an 'of the turf' contest May 16. Only her second start, it was a nice move forward off her debut and she ships from Saratoga after a bullet half-mile breeze on the training track there June 5.
th pick: #16 (Daddysneverready) (12-1) - A total of five late scratches allows this 4yo by 'Scat Daddy' to get in off the also-eligible list. She raced evenly while extremely wide when beaten almost 9 lengths here at this level going 6 furlongs May 27. It was her first since debuting at Gulfstream Park on March 31 of 2018 and think she can factor today making back-to-back starts for the first time.
