As it was he missed by a length and $450,000 son of 'Hard Spun' will be tough to beat in this spot.
2nd pick: #3 (Brianbakescookies) (10-1) - Longshot stretches out following an even effort here April 30. It was his first race in seven months and first for trainer Chris Clement. Four-year-old draws a good ground saving post and can factor at a big price.
3rd pick: #10 (Into the Breach) (7-2) - Colt enters off a career beat May 12. He broke on top, set a pressured pace, and held to finish second, a 1/2 length in front of the troubled 'Rocketry.' It was his first ever on the grass and 'Triple Crown' nominee is an obvious threat with a repeat of his latest.
4th pick: #11 (Eradicator) (4-1) - From the Pletcher barn, he closed fast to miss by a 'neck' when debuting April 16 at Gulfstream park. He showed no early speed that day and draws a tough outside post while facing a much tougher field. Needs some breaks for anything more than a minor award.
