Top pick: #5 (FOREVER THING) (4-1) - Lightly-raced and well-bred, son of "Tapit" cost $1,000,000 as a 2-year-old in training in March of 2012 and trainer Todd Pletcher has brough him along slowly. He broke his maiden here going 9 furlongs in an "off the turf" contest on May 10th, but had run well in his first pair on the Gulfstream turf. Working fast for this and we'll find out a lot more about his talent level in this spot.
2nd pick: #9 (Pocket Cowboys) (15-1) - Longshot has slipped a bit as he's gotten older, but he's always liked this surface (15-3-6-0), and this New York-bred has won state-bred stakes here in the past and price play recently joined the Jacobson barn.
3rd pick: #6 (Arc Above) (3-1) - "Long winded" type ships from Keeneland where he finished second there when facing similar on the all-weather surface April 19th. Capable on the grass and he's done well on this course in the past (3-1-0-2).
4th pick: #3 (Punctual Jeff) (5-1) - Another who broke his maiden last out and he did so with a strong rally at Churchill Downs on April 27th. Working steadily since, and you get trainer Mike Maker at a square price for a change.
