Top pick: #11 (MY FRIEND KEITH) (3-1) - The probable favorite, he's shortening up a bit in distance after finishing 2nd here at this tag going 1 1/8th mile on the turf June 12. He's back in shape following several layoffs, meets a weak field, and is the horse to beat.
nd pick: #1 (Hushhushmushmush) (5-1) - He's had a lot of chances, but has been competitive many times facing tougher groups than this. He has the inside and can factor turning for home following a ground saving trip.
rd pick: #4 (Freudian Lights) (5-1) - Lightly raced, he ran a career best 'figure' when rallying to finish 3rd here at this tag going 7-furlongs June 18. It was his first ever on the grass and first off a trainer change to Billy Turner, Jr. (he of 'Seattle Slew' fame).
th pick: #5 (Spun Hard) (8-1) - Disappointing sort cost $250K and is making only his third start mid-way thru his 4yo season. Unraced since early August, he's working well and may impact at a big price.
th pick: #6 (Summerderby) (15-1) - Debuting gelding has a fine series of works on view, and trainer Lisa Lewis has won with two of her last eight first-time-starters. He need not be much to factor against this field.
