The 5yo has gone 8-4-2-1 here in the past and missed by a 'neck' in this stakes a year ago. She gets top billing in this one.
2nd pick: #5 (Lady Joan) (4-1) - Speedy mare has gone 17-6-5-3 on the grass and is 8-2-2-2 locally. In three races last year facing 'Fifty Five,' she defeated her by a 'neck' at Saratoga, but was three and 5.5 lengths in back of her during the Fall. This 5yo won her seasonal debut April 13 at Gulfstream and is a win candidate in this spot.
3rd pick: #7 (Lovely La La) (10-1) - The second of the pair from Chad Brown, this lightly raced 4yo finished 2nd here facing weaker April 28. It was her first race since Oct. 20, and I think she can factor at a square price.
4th pick: #6 (Munchkin Money) (8-1) - Very consistent mare ships from Churchill Downs where she finished an even 4th facing optional-$100K claimers May 10. That was against 'open' company, and she had won her first pair earlier this year at Gulfstream. She has a flexible style and is a threat at a big price.
