Top pick: #3 (SUM OF THE PARTS) - Very speedy colt has won three in a row since returning from a 5 1/2 month layoff on April 20th. He's won on both dirt and "poly" and trainer Tom Amoss will try him on the grass for the first time. Son of "Speightstown" is working fast for his first race since June 30th and will be very tough if he takes to the turf.
2nd pick: #6 (Spring to the Sky) - He'll be cutting-back off a series of longer races and this stakes-placed runner is brought back quickly by trainer Bruce Brown. Colt had a very tough trip at Saratoga on Sept. 2 in the (G3) Saranac and is a win candidate this afternoon.
3rd pick: #8 (Sportswriter) - In career best shape at this time, New York-bred rallied to win a $100K stakes going a mile at Saratoga on August 8th and has a trio of maintenance works at Aqueduct since then. Can factor at a square price.
