Top pick: #4 (POPPY'S WATCHING) (7-2) - Like many entered, he's improved since moving to the grass and enters off a close up fourth place finish here at this level & distance on Sept. 7th. Stalker should get a fast pace to rally into, and he gets the edge in another competitive contest.
nd pick: #8 (Gentle Jim) (12-1) - "Jim" has either been "inside or outside" in his last three trips to the post, and has tired in each. He draws better, catches a field without a lot of other early speed, and he's dangerous at a square price.
rd pick: #9 (Bob and Jim) (5-1) - He enters off a career best when he rallied to finish second of 10, beaten a 1/2 length racing here at this condition & trip on Sept. 7th. Big effort came off a 4 1/2 month break, and he's a major threat if it's repeatable.
th pick: #6 (Raglin River) (6-1) - Lightly raced 4yo enters off a pair of sharp starts when he finished third twice, beaten just under a length. Much improved since coming back from a 4 1/2 month layoff on Aug. 16th, and his latest was a career best.
th pick: #7 (Sun Worshiper) (5-2) - The probable favorite, he comes off a career best when he tracked an average pace and rallied to finish second here going seven furlongs two weeks ago. Effort earned him the highest last race "figure," and lightly raced gelding has worked since. In the mix, but he'll be over-bet.
